DAVID B. H. WILLIAMS
Mr. Williams has extensive experience counseling businesses, litigating business
disputes and negotiating business transactions. Mr. Williams' client list includes
national banks, national consulting firms, manufacturing businesses and real estate
developers.
Mr. Williams has successfully represented public banking institutions in fraud
cases across the nation. He has investigated and prosecuted cases involving secured
transactions and fraudulent misrepresentations by commercial borrowers. Focusing
on a cost-effective approach to litigation, Mr. Williams has consistently achieved
successful results for his clients at trial and through negotiated settlements.
Mr. Williams also represents business concerns and entrepreneurs on the full-spectrum
of business issues ranging from acquisitions to entity formation. Mr. Williams recently
advised two different Australian corporations on how best to structure their North
America operations. Additionally, a significant portion of Mr. Williams' practice
involves negotiating employment agreements for executives. He recently negotiated
an ex-patriot employment agreement on behalf of an executive retained to expand
the Asian practice of an international consulting firm.
Mr. Williams represented an inventor of a medical device in a tortious interference
with contract claim, obtaining an $8 million verdict against a public pharmaceutical
company. Mr. Williams also has substantial experience handling products liability
matters, having represented a national water heater manufacturer in flammable vapor
and scald cases.
Mr. Williams is active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors
of the RANCH neighborhood Board of Directors.
Mr. Williams was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1994, and is a graduate of Yale
University (B.A., cum laude, 1991) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D.
1994). Mr. Williams is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American
Bar Association.
